5 WordPress Themes That Steve Jobs Would Love

Steve Jobs has always been an interesting cross between technologist, marketer, and auteur. Any product he has helmed has been marked not only by cutting edge technology, but a deep sense of style and effective design. Given his success, here are a few suggestions for themes when Steve finally decides to launch a personal blog.

1. iTheme

iTheme by N. Design Studio gives your wordpress site a full MacOS X look. Not only that, but it is widget-ready and includes a drag-and-drop customizable sidebar. Those wanting more than two columns will find it wanting, but otherwise this would be a great choice for a Mac-oriented site.

2. Think Different

For those looking for a Mac feel without going for a whole desktop simulation, Think Different offers a middle ground. This theme from Teli Design offers Macintosh window decorations on the body of the page, but doesn’t force the entire page into Macintosh’s mold. The result is a very pleasant mix of web and Mac styles.

3. Retro MacOS

A retro look is always a nice way to differentiate a site, and the Retro MacOS theme from Modern Life is powerful retro mojo for your site. This is designer Kevin Brown’s first WordPress theme, but it has been quite a debut, even making it to the front page of Digg. Those looking for lots of columns and subdivisions may want to look elsewhere, however, as the stripped down look is accompanied by stripped down layout.

4. Ipod Theme

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last few years, you know that iPod’s are now a big part of Apple’s product line (and bottom line). And the most iconic iPod commercials have been the dancing white silhouettes. The iPod Theme from OS Skins takes this motif and applies it to a nice two-column WordPress theme.

5. IPhone Theme

The Mac revolutionized computer interfaces and the iPod defined a generation of MP3 players. Now Apple has thrown their a rock into the cell phone pool with the iPhone and the ripples might well be just as big. The iPhone Theme by Erik Gyepes brings the look of the iPhone to your WordPress blog in a very nice two-column form.

Of course, given Steve Jobs’ litigious history, maybe he wouldn’t like these. His loss.
